information | distribution | future | links information the project aristotle record store is an experiment and a labor of love for joseph dobzynski, jr - creator and founder of project aristotle records. the experiment is that it aims to become a co-operative where people can own a piece of the store and guide it along the way. the labor of love is that it is non-profit, with all non-label profit going directly back into the store for catalog expansion and hosting fees. we are not here to rip you off, but to deliver music from small labels around the globe. you have an active part in what we should and should not stock. this record store is always open to feedback. distribution if you would like to distribute your own cds or cdrs, the project aristotle store is moving to an at-cost distribution format. in an effort to find innovative ways to distribute cds from independent labels at low costs, we have developed this format to work more closely with labels who are willing to participate. the format has us buying releases at cost from a label or artist, and determining with the label or artist a sale price and store profit margin. the rest of the price goes directly to the label or artist. if you are willing to try this format of distribution or have questions concerning the model, please contact us at: contact@project-aristotle.com. future imagine you could go to a store and determine what you wanted to stock. if you saw something that you thought fit in and could make it happen. if you worked together with like minded people to build a record store and community. this is the dream for the project aristotle records store - to open it up to a co-operative record store, where the community decides which labels to stock, what releases to stock, what goes on sale, and how to manage it all. members of the community, for an investment would receive an equal vote in all decisions and receive discounts on all purchases. all investments would be handled and all work for the site would be by donation. it's a dream that is becoming a reality around the globe. we'll get there some day. links project aristotle records project aristotle art site project aristotle community board paypal
