Conclusion
What I sought to do was to list what I see at the four forms of philosophy and problems associated with explanatory, critical, and shaping philosophy. This “meta-philosophical” article aimed at showing what I see as the barriers and routes for advancement in philosophy today as we wade through the dregs of such swamps as post-modernism and anti-realism. While these positions should be studied and critiqued, I dare say that they are not any form of philosophy that could shape a person or are they any means creative unless it is one big Socratic irony. Overall, I would validate a true philosophy if it can be perceived as explainable, critical, shaping, and have the opportunity for creative argument. Any philosophy that does not meet these four criteria in some facet is incomplete from a rational and practical standpoint. This is not to say there are not insights to be gained from such study, but for philosophy to progress and overcome its barriers, I propose the preceding form of verification and validation.
